Terms of Service

1. The service

Holy Doomscrolling is a Bible reading app designed to help you make Scripture part of your everyday routine. Features may include reading tools, saved content, progress, reminders, and AI-assisted explanations or reflections. Availability may vary by app version, device, region, or subscription.

Holy Doomscrolling supports personal reading and reflection. We do not guarantee any particular spiritual, educational, or personal outcome.

2. Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service, or older if required by local law. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you must have permission from a parent or legal guardian.

You are responsible for providing accurate account information, keeping your sign-in credentials secure, and using your account lawfully. Contact us if you suspect unauthorized access.

3. License and acceptable use

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes, subject to these Terms and applicable marketplace rules.

You must not misuse the Service, interfere with its security, access accounts without authorization, introduce harmful code, infringe others' rights, or use it for unlawful purposes. You may not copy, resell, distribute, or reverse engineer our proprietary software except as permitted by applicable law or an applicable license.

4. Scripture and other content

Bible translations, commentary, audio, and other third-party materials remain the property of their respective rights holders or are subject to the applicable public-domain status. A translation's inclusion in Holy Doomscrolling does not give you additional reproduction or redistribution rights.

Observe the attribution, copyright notices, and usage restrictions displayed with the relevant content. Our app design, branding, and original materials are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.

Translations and interpretations can differ. Verify passages against the identified translation and distinguish biblical text from commentary or AI-generated explanations. Report suspected content errors to our support address.

5. Your content and AI features

You retain your rights in notes, prompts, and other original content you submit. You give us permission to host, store, process, and transmit that content as needed to provide the features you use, consistent with our Privacy Policy. You must have the rights and permissions needed to submit content.

AI-generated explanations, reflections, and responses can be incomplete, inaccurate, or misleading. They are not Scripture, a substitute for your own study, or an authoritative statement of any religious tradition. Check quotations and important claims against the underlying sources.

The Service does not provide medical, mental-health, legal, or other professional advice. You are responsible for how you use generated content and for seeking appropriate guidance when needed.

6. Subscriptions and payments

Some features may require a paid subscription or purchase. The price, billing period, trial terms, and included features are disclosed before you purchase. Purchases through the App Store are billed through your Apple account and are subject to Apple's applicable terms.

Auto-renewing subscriptions continue until canceled. Manage or cancel an Apple subscription in your Apple account's subscription settings. If a free or discounted trial is offered, cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends if you do not want it to renew. The timing and renewal terms displayed at purchase apply.

Deleting the app or requesting account deletion does not cancel a subscription. Refund requests for Apple purchases are handled through Apple, subject to its policies and any rights provided by law. We do not store your full payment card details.

7. Apple platform terms

These Terms are between you and Reset, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the Service or its content and has no obligation to provide maintenance or support. Use of an iOS app must comply with applicable Apple usage rules, including applicable Family Sharing provisions.

To the extent a warranty applies, you may notify Apple if the app fails to conform to that warranty, and Apple may refund the purchase price. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation. We, rather than Apple, are responsible for addressing claims relating to the app, including applicable product, consumer-protection, and intellectual-property claims.

You must comply with applicable third-party terms. You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. government embargo or designated as supporting terrorism and are not on a U.S. government list of prohibited or restricted parties. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce the applicable provisions.

8. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how we process account information, reading activity, saved content, AI interactions, device information, and subscription information. Device permissions and any required consents apply separately.

9. Availability and warranties

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability or that content will be free of errors.

We may update, modify, or discontinue features, subject to applicable law and any commitments for paid services. Your non-waivable statutory rights remain unaffected.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Reset and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages resulting from use of, or inability to use, the Service, including loss of data or reliance on inaccurate content.

These limitations do not exclude liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limit mandatory consumer protections.

11. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate access if you materially violate these Terms, misuse the Service, create a security risk, or if required by law. We will provide notice where appropriate and legally required.

You may stop using the Service at any time. For account deletion, contact hello@tryresetapp.com. Manage active subscriptions separately with the marketplace where you purchased them. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination remain in effect.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms. We will revise the date above and provide notice of material changes where required. Changes apply prospectively, subject to applicable law. If you do not agree to revised Terms, stop using the Service; we will obtain any additional acceptance required by law.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where applicable law requires otherwise. You retain mandatory protections and rights available under the laws of your place of residence.
